We've recently found a much higher quality Ginseng Oolong than we previously had available. This newer blend is made with a special premium oolong from Hunan, China, and only the youngest tea leaves are used. The leaves are then withered, rolled and ultimately dusted with ginseng and licorice root, creating a mild tea with woody and floral notes and a hint of sweetness and spice. This blend is also sometimes called “King’s Tea” or “Emperor Oolong.” Contains no added flavorings.

Cups Per Package

This luxury Ginseng oolong tea is carefully blended and packaged by hand in a reusable tin or a resealable kraft bag. Our 4 oz. tin or kraft bag makes approximately 40 cups of tea. Our 8 oz. kraft bag makes approximately 80 cups.

Ingredients

Oolong tea, ginseng powder, licorice root. Contains no added flavors.

Tasting Notes

Mild and herbaceous, with floral and woody notes and a hint of sweetness and spice.

How To Brew Ginseng Oolong

Use 1 level teaspoon per 6 oz. water. Heat water until briskly steaming (not boiling). Steep for 3 - 4 minutes. This tea may be infused several times.

When preparing Ginseng Oolong, we recommend using a teapot, tea infuser, or tea filter. These brewing methods give the tea leaves enough room to expand as the tea steeps, resulting in a more flavorful cup. Oolong tea leaves can more than triple in size over the course of successive infusions.

Ginseng Oolong Caffeine Content

Oolong tea contains a moderate amount of caffeine, less than half as much as coffee per cup.

Ginseng Oolong Benefits

Oolong tea boosts energy and helps with focus.

Licorice root helps with digestion and supports the immune system.

More About Ginseng Oolong Tea

Like other types of tea, including black tea, green tea, and white tea, oolong tea is made from the leaves of the camellia sinensis tea plant, which is native to southwest China and northeast India. Oolong teas are partially oxidized, and fall somewhere in between black and green teas in terms of their oxidation level. Ginseng Oolong tea leaves are rolled by hand into tight balls, coated with ginseng, and blended with licorice root for a subtle, slightly spiced tea with woody and floral notes.

Our Ginseng Oolong is a soothing, aromatic tea with a bewitching quality that we just can’t get enough of. The tea leaf base used for Ginseng Oolong is a lightly oxidized oolong similar to Fine Ti Kuan Yin. The tightly rolled tea leaves are then coated in ginseng, which gives them the appearance of small, dense pebbles. As the tea steeps, these balls gradually unfurl and expand. Ginseng Oolong is full of medicinal properties and has a milk flavor with a subtle sweetness from the licorice and a hint of spice. It’s a great tea to enjoy over the course of an afternoon, savoring the subtle differences in each successive infusion.
